Personal Injury Law FAQ

They say they want to settle...

They probably do. But will the settlement be fair to you? The insurance company wants to save as much money as possible. How do they do that? By not paying YOU.

I can't afford an attorney....

Yes you can! Unlike other types of legal work, personal injury cases are often taken on a contingent fee basis. This means that you don't pay ANYTHING in most cases until your matter settles.

What's my case worth?

That's hard to say. Once you meet with the attorney, he can give you a general estimate based on the type of case, extent of injuries, and a host of other factors. The attorney can assist you in getting the maximum value for your case.

I didn't break any bones, or even get stitches. Is my case worth pursuing?

It may well be. It doesn't take blood loss or broken bones to make a valuable case. The only way to tell is to get evaluated medically AND legally

What is the most important thing to do after an accident?

Get qualified medical attention PROMPTLY, then follow your doctor's advice
